27 Jul Sport, fun and solidarity in the Allianz Night Run, with Marc Márquez and hundreds of runners!
The big day finally arrived! A lot of people were waiting for the 2nd July, not for the wished holydays, but to have the opportunity to run with the world champion of MotoGP Marc Márquez, at the Circuit of Barcelona-Catalunya, with the sunset as background.
The first runners began to arrive from 6pm to collect their dorsal calmly and enjoy the experience of being in the paddock and boxes of Montmeló.
The protagonist of the race, and also the solidarity Laps for Life 93 ambassador, Marc Marquez, arrived at the circuit at 7pm and he attended the journalists before wearing their official technical shirt, in a nice blue color, and head to the track.
At 8.30pm, Marc fired the starting gun of the 5km race and, a few minutes later, started running in the 10 km race with the other runners, but could not finish due physical problems, in order to get fit to the German Grand Prix.
The more than 700 participants, including 60 employees of Allianz Seguros, were coming slowly to the finish, led by Marcos Rogério and Lorena Cubillas (winners of the male and female 5 km category), and Roger Roca and Paula Mayorbe (winners of the male and female 10 km category).
There were professionals runners, amateur runners, motorsports fans who wanted to step on the asphalt that had so often seen on television, fans of Marc Márquez who were dying to get a selfie with him (and they got it!), families with children, participants in wheelchair … What a fantastic atmosphere! And after the effort… party time! Pasta Party, live music, the award prices ceremony hold by Marc Márquez himself… Amazing!
And to finish a perfect day, participants of the Allianz Night Run went home with the satisfaction of having contributed to a worthy cause, because SOS Children’s Villages Spain will receive 4,000 euros thanks to this race, which will go to their scholarship dining project, with more than 500 children and young people across Spain as beneficiaries.
Thank you all for making this possible!
